Condition and Value Survey is a type of inspection performed to aid the insurance company or financial lender to determine whether or not the vessel is an acceptable risk to underwrite or finance. These third parties are interested in structural integrity and safety for the vessel’s intended use.  Most insurance companies require a survey on older vessels, also a fair market value.
